Vacancy: Early Childhood Teacher (assistant) Maternity Cover
Edenmore Early Education Centre, located on Tonlegee Road, Edenmore, Dublin 5, is a community-based provider of early childhood education and care. Our service serves the local community with targeted supports for families who need family support Edenmore EEC is part funded by Tusla and the DCEIDY.
We are seeking an Early Childhood Teacher (Assistant, Maternity Leave contract) who will work in line with our mission to provide quality early childhood education and care experiences for children and families.
Contract: Term Time contract (closed for mid term breaks). A 16-hour week contract from September 2021 – May 2022.
Hours of Work: The hours of work will be 8.45am – 11.45am Monday to Friday (with 1-hour non-contact time a week) with the possibility of extra hours on occasion.
Annual Leave: Annual leave will be calculated at a rate of 8% of working hours. Annual leave is taken during midterm breaks when Centre is closed.
Salary: The role is paid at an hourly rate of €15 per hour.
Required skills and competencies
A relevant third level qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (minimum QQI level 6 award)
Previous experience in an Early Education setting desirable
Experience in curriculum planning and assessment of learning
Familiarity with National frameworks Aistear and Síolta
Ability to use initiative, self-motivate and work effectively within a team
Child Protection training desirable but familiarity of Child Protection policies essential
